You can prepare a variety of drinks and snacks for iftar and suhoor. When meal schedules change, planning the table in advance makes preparation easier. Having drinks and snacks ready ahead of time can reduce the serving workload at iftar. Here are some ways to prepare them.

What Can You Prepare for Suhoor?
Water, yogurt, fruit, and egg dishes offer different options for the suhoor table. Combine them to make a menu with a variety of flavors and textures. Fruit can be mixed with yogurt and served in a bowl. Anyone with a specific health condition should discuss fasting and their eating routine with a doctor.

Cold Drinks
Ayran can be made by mixing yogurt and water, then chilled before serving. To make fruit-infused drinks, add sliced fruit to water.

Hot Drinks
Herbal teas steep for different lengths of time depending on the product. Steeping time changes the drink's aroma and flavor. Working in a well-ventilated kitchen while preparing drinks and snacks helps disperse food aromas. Mint leaves can add flavor to drinks served hot or cold. For cold drinks, prepare ice in a clean bag or ice tray and add it to glasses. Keep a clean cloth dampened with cold water separate from other kitchen cloths, and use clean equipment when preparing drinks.

Preparing to Serve
Do not add strongly scented products such as lavender oil to a drink unless the label says they are suitable for food use. Hot water, tea, or soup for the iftar table can be planned in advance. Hot drinks cool to lukewarm as they sit, reaching a different serving temperature. Prepare herbal tea and fruit-infused water in separate pitchers to offer a choice at the table. Having water and breakfast drinks ready to serve at suhoor makes setting the table easier. Small bowls of fruit and yogurt offer an additional option alongside hot dishes. A calm table setup can be preferable to a noisy serving environment.
