Women sometimes become concerned about excess weight and try different ways to lose it. One of the gentler options is herbal tea made by combining different plants. These teas are said to give better results when paired with a regular, balanced diet and a daily habit of light exercise. Below is a tea made with apple, cinnamon, and black pepper, along with ingredient substitutions and serving suggestions.

Ingredients
For the tea, you will need 1 apple, 1 lemon, 1 cinnamon stick, half of a 4 ml measure of black pepper, 5 cloves, one 4 ml measure of rosemary, 1 herbal slimming tea bag, and 1 liter of water. These ingredients are easy to find and are already in many kitchens. A steel or glass teapot or pot is preferred. The acidity of the apple and lemon may leave a slight metallic taste after prolonged contact with some metal containers.

Preparation
Wash the apple and lemon thoroughly, slice them, and place them in the teapot. Add the cinnamon stick, black pepper, cloves, and rosemary, then add the water and bring it to a boil. Once the water boils, add the slimming tea bag and steep for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag, strain the tea, and serve. You can leave the apple peel on; it adds color and a slight pectin-like body. Remove the lemon seeds when slicing it, or they may make the tea noticeably bitter.

What Should You Keep in Mind When Drinking It?
The tea should be consumed on the day it is made rather than saved for the next day. Whether you drink it on an empty or full stomach makes no difference; it is sometimes said to curb appetite when taken on an empty stomach in the morning, but there is little scientific evidence that teas like this cause weight loss on their own. Pregnant or breastfeeding people and anyone with a chronic condition such as high blood pressure should consult a doctor before drinking herbal teas of this kind.

Can You Change the Ingredients?
If you do not have a cinnamon stick, you can use ground cinnamon. It may cloud the water and leave sediment, so strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer at the end. Adjust the number of cloves to taste; too many can make the tea noticeably bitter. If you do not have rosemary, you can try thyme, which gives the tea a fresher aroma.

Can You Make Similar Herbal Teas?
You can use the same method and add slices of ginger or mint leaves. Ginger adds a sharper aroma, while mint gives a fresher flavor. Adjust the proportions of the herbs to taste, but keep the total amount of liquid the same to maintain the steeping time. Fresh fruit and spices have a noticeably stronger aroma than dried-out or stale ingredients.

How Should You Store It?
Because the tea is best prepared fresh and consumed the same day, making and storing a large batch in advance is not recommended. Store dry ingredients such as cinnamon sticks, cloves, and rosemary for longer in sealed jars in a cool, dark cabinet. Keep the slimming tea bags in their closed package to protect them from moisture.
