Inspired by the curry culture that developed where English and Indian cuisines intersect, this dish is made by seasoning a ground beef and rice filling with curry powder and stuffing it into peppers. Baked peppers have a spiced but not fiery flavor.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the filling

12 min

Sauté the onion in cooking oil. Add the ground beef and cook until it changes color. Add the curry powder and toast for 1 minute.

2

Add the rice

5 min

Add the rinsed rice and half a 200 ml measure of tomato sauce. Season with salt and remove from the heat.

3

Stuff the peppers

8 min

Fill the peppers two-thirds full with the mixture. Pour the remaining tomato sauce into a baking dish and arrange the peppers on top.

4

Bake

40 min

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in an oven preheated to 190°C / 375°F for 40 minutes.

Reminder

Do not toast the curry powder in the pan for more than 1 minute; cooking the spice for too long can make it bitter and harsh.
