This simple yet elegant Greek breakfast tops strained yogurt with caramelized walnuts and a drizzle of honey. Getting the caramel just right without burning it takes care. Prepared in small jars, it also travels well in a lunchbox.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the caramel

6 min

Melt the granulated sugar in a dry frying pan over medium heat for 6 minutes until amber. Do not stir; simply swirl the pan.

2

Caramelize the walnuts

2 min

Add the walnuts and a pinch of salt to the melted sugar. Stir quickly for 2 minutes to coat, then pour onto parchment paper.

3

Cool and break up

5 min

Let the caramelized walnuts cool at room temperature for 5 minutes, then break into pieces.

4

Arrange over the yogurt

4 min

Divide the strained yogurt between bowls, scatter with the caramelized walnuts and drizzle with honey.

Reminder

Avoid stirring the sugar as it melts, as stirring too early can cause crystallization. Swirl the pan instead. Allergens: contains milk and dairy products (yogurt), and nuts (walnuts).

Karameli ilk denememde bile yakmadan yaptım, 6 dakikalık süre tam kıvamı yakalattı, ceviz-bal dengesi de mükemmeldi.
