These snacks are made by filling ready-made puff pastry sheets with a mixture of Kashar cheese (Turkish semi-hard cheese) and Turkish white cheese, then baking in small bites. Their crisp, flaky layers make them a popular plate to share at gatherings and teatime.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the filling

5 min

Mix the kashar cheese, Turkish white cheese and parsley.

2

Cut and fill the pastry

10 min

Cut the puff pastry sheets into small squares. Put a spoonful of filling on each and fold over.

3

Brush with egg and bake

20 min

Brush the bites with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in an oven preheated to 190°C / 375°F for twenty minutes, until golden.

Reminder

Do not leave the puff pastry sheets at room temperature for too long, or they will soften and lose their layers. Allergens: contains gluten (pastry), dairy products (Kashar cheese and Turkish white cheese) and eggs.
