These hearty rolls, suited to South African celebration tables, are made by wrapping cabbage leaves around a spiced ground beef filling and pressure-cooking them. The filling contains no grains, making the dish suitable for those seeking a low-carb meal.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Blanch the cabbage leaves

10 min

Boil the separated cabbage leaves in water for 8 minutes, until softened and pliable, then drain.

2

Prepare the filling

10 min

Mix the ground beef with the grated onion, egg, thyme, salt, and black pepper.

3

Roll the cabbage leaves

15 min

Flatten the center rib of each leaf slightly. Place 1 spoonful of filling in the center, fold in the sides, and roll tightly.

4

Cook in the pressure cooker

20 min

Arrange the rolls snugly in the pressure cooker and add the olive oil and water. Close the lid. When the cooker starts whistling, reduce the heat and cook for 20 minutes.

Reminder

Arrange the rolls snugly in the pressure cooker or they may open while cooking. Leftover rolls can be put in a container and stored in the freezer. Contains egg.

Düşük karbonhidratlı diye tanıtılıyor ama harçta hiç pirinç olmayınca dokusu bana biraz kuru ve dağınık geldi, alışık olduğum sarma kıvamını vermedi. Belki biraz rendelenmiş kabak eklemek nemi artırırdı.

Haklısınız, pirinçsiz harç doğası gereği daha kuru kalır. Rendelenmiş kabak eklemek gerçekten iyi bir çözüm, nem oranını artırırken karbonhidratı da fazla yükseltmez.
