Meatballs and kebabs
A classic of English street food, rissoles are made by mixing seasoned ground beef, coating it in whole-grain breadcrumbs, and pan-frying until cooked through. The crumb coating adds crunch and helps the patties hold their shape.
Knead the ground beef thoroughly with the finely chopped onion, black pepper, and one egg.
Shape the mixture into flat oval patties.
Dip the patties in the remaining egg, then coat them twice in whole-grain breadcrumbs.
Fry the patties in hot cooking oil for 7–8 minutes, until golden on all sides and cooked through.
Coat the patties in breadcrumbs twice before frying. A single coating may leave bare spots that can let the filling leak out as they cook. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten) and egg.
