A popular Indonesian street food made with spiced chicken cubes marinated, threaded onto skewers and grilled. Serve it with a sweet and spicy peanut sauce at parties or gatherings.
Mix the chicken cubes with the soy sauce, turmeric, cumin, crushed garlic, sugar and cooking oil. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the soaked skewers, leaving a little space between them.
Grill the skewers on a hot barbecue or in a grill pan, turning them so each side cooks for 3–4 minutes.
Stir the peanut butter, coconut milk, soy sauce, lemon juice and sugar until smooth.
Serve the hot chicken skewers with the peanut sauce.
Important: Marinate the chicken cubes for at least 30 minutes before threading them onto the skewers, or the meat may dry out on the grill. Caution: Soak wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes before cooking so they do not catch fire. Allergens: contains peanuts and soy (soy sauce). Also check the soy sauce label for gluten; ingredients vary by product.
