Stuffed vegetables and leaf rolls
Swiss chard leaves are wrapped around a simple ground meat and rice filling, simmered over low heat and served with yogurt. This hearty hot dish uses just a few ingredients and works well for an everyday dinner.
Mix the ground meat, rice, onion, salt and black pepper until evenly combined.
Place some filling in the center of each Swiss chard leaf. Fold the sides inward, roll it up and seal the ends firmly.
Arrange the rolls in a pot. Add the water and butter, then cook over low heat until the rice and Swiss chard are tender.
Transfer the rolls to a plate while hot, spoon the garlic yogurt over them and serve.
Important: Fold the ends of each leaf inward as you roll it to keep the filling from spilling out during cooking. Arrange the rolls snugly in the pot so they do not shift as they cook. Allergen: the suggested yogurt topping is dairy.
