Köme (Nut-Filled Fruit Leather)

Köme is a high-energy snack made by dipping walnuts or hazelnuts in grape molasses or fruit pulp and drying them. Although similar to fruit leather, it is more filling because it contains nuts. It is a traditional winter snack in the Black Sea region and the Caucasus.

Where It’s Used

“Thread the walnuts on a string, dip them in fruit pulp mixed with grape molasses, and dry to make Köme.”
