Thin apple slices are tossed with cinnamon and dried at a low temperature in the air fryer to make a crisp, sugar-free snack. The same slices can also be dried in a preheated oven in a similar amount of time.
Core the apples and cut into slices 2–3 millimeters thick. Thicker slices will not become as crisp.
Lightly toss the slices with lemon juice, then sprinkle evenly with cinnamon.
Arrange the slices in the air-fryer basket without overlapping. Dry at 130°C / 265°F for 25 minutes, turning once halfway through. If you do not have an air fryer, dry them in an oven preheated to 130°C / 265°F for 40 minutes.
The chips continue to firm up for a few minutes after leaving the air fryer. Do not add extra cooking time just because they still seem slightly soft. They keep fresh in a sealed jar at room temperature for 3 days.
