Boil the eggs
7 minBoil the eggs in water for exactly 7 minutes, then cool them in ice water and peel.
Soft-boiled eggs are marinated in soy sauce, coated in panko breadcrumbs, and air-fried to make Japanese-style ajitama with crisp outsides and runny centers. They also make a snack that can be served cold in a picnic basket.
Boil the eggs in water for exactly 7 minutes, then cool them in ice water and peel.
Marinate the peeled eggs in a mixture of soy sauce and water in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Coat the marinated eggs in flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs, in that order.
Arrange the coated eggs in the air fryer basket and cook at 190°C / 375°F for 8 minutes, until crisp. If you do not have an air fryer, bake them in a preheated oven at the same temperature for 14 minutes.
Do not extend the egg-boiling time, or the centers will no longer be soft-boiled. Allergens: contains gluten (breadcrumbs, flour), egg, and soy.
