This Azerbaijani children's dessert is made by quickly pressure-cooking thin pasta in milk until creamy. As the pasta absorbs all the milk, the pudding becomes soft enough to cut with a spoon. Its simple, nut-free recipe also makes it easy to include in school lunchboxes.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Toast the pasta

5 min

Melt the butter in the pressure cooker with the lid off. Add the vermicelli and stir until golden.

2

Cook with milk

8 min

Add the milk and granulated sugar and close the lid. Cook for 8 minutes once the cooker boils and whistles.

3

Let it thicken

7 min

Let the pressure release naturally and open the lid. Stir in the vanilla and leave for a few minutes to thicken.

4

Serve

2 min

Divide the pudding between bowls and serve warm or cold.

Reminder

Let the cooker cool and the pressure release naturally. A quick pressure release may cause milk foam to overflow. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), and milk and dairy products (milk and butter).
