This German whole-grain breakfast is made by quickly cooking oats with milk and apple puree in a pressure cooker. Pressure cooking greatly reduces the oats’ long cooking time.
Add the oats, milk, and apple puree to the pressure cooker and stir.
Close the lid and bring the cooker to pressure. Cook over low heat for 8 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the pressure release naturally.
Open the lid, stir thoroughly, and let the porridge cool to lukewarm before serving.
Let the pressure release naturally; opening the cooker too soon may leave the oats too watery. Let the porridge cool until lukewarm before feeding it to a baby. Contains gluten (oats) and dairy.
