Prepare the baguette slices
5 minBrush one side of each baguette slice with olive oil and arrange them on a baking sheet.
These mini canapés are made by topping baguette slices with sucuk (Turkish spiced sausage) and kashar, a Turkish semi-hard cheese, then toasting them in the oven. They come together quickly for breakfast or unexpected guests.
Brush one side of each baguette slice with olive oil and arrange them on a baking sheet.
Top each slice with a thin slice of sucuk and, if desired, a slice of tomato. Add the kashar cheese on top.
Bake in a preheated oven until the cheese melts and the edges are lightly browned. Caution: The cheese can brown quickly once it melts, so stay close to the oven.
Important: Lightly sautéing the thinly sliced sucuk first helps render some of its excess fat, making the canapés less greasy. Allergen: contains gluten and dairy, and includes processed meat (sucuk).
