A baby-friendly version of a Brazilian breakfast papinha, this dish is ready in minutes: stir mashed banana into gently cooked oats. It contains no added sweetener and relies on the banana’s natural sweetness.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Cook the oats

6 min

Put the finely ground oats and milk in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for 6 minutes, until thick and porridge-like.

2

Let the porridge cool

4 min

Remove it from the heat and let it stand for 4 minutes, until it has cooled to a temperature suitable for the baby.

3

Add the banana

3 min

Mash the banana with a fork until smooth and stir it into the warm oatmeal. If the texture is too thick, thin it with a few spoonfuls of milk.

Reminder

If this is the baby’s first time eating oats, follow the one-new-food-at-a-time approach and avoid introducing another new food for a few days. Mash the banana just before serving; if mashed in advance, it can brown and develop a sour taste. Allergens: contains milk and dairy products. Check the oat package for a gluten statement; ingredients vary by product.

Bebeğim için lapa biraz fazla koyu oldu, tarifte önerilen yarım bardak süt yerine üçte iki bardak kullansam daha kaşıklanabilir bir kıvam elde ederdim sanırım. Tat güzeldi ama kıvamı biraz uğraştırdı.
