Put the Beans in the Pressure Cooker
5 minDrain the soaked borlotti beans and put them in a pressure cooker. Add the carrot, potato, and water. Lock the lid and bring the pressure cooker to a boil.
A Balkan-style puree of borlotti beans, carrot, and potato cooked in a pressure cooker until tender, then blended until smooth. Prepared without spices or salt, it provides a high-fiber, iron-rich meal for babies 8 months and older.
Drain the soaked borlotti beans and put them in a pressure cooker. Add the carrot, potato, and water. Lock the lid and bring the pressure cooker to a boil.
Cook in the pressure cooker over low heat for 40 minutes, then remove it from the heat and let the pressure fall naturally. The beans should be soft enough to mash between your fingers.
Drain the cooked beans and vegetables, reserving some cooking liquid. Blend with a little of the liquid, add the olive oil, and continue blending until smooth.
Remember to soak the dried borlotti beans in water for at least 8 hours beforehand; otherwise, they may not become soft enough in the pressure cooker. If offering them to your baby for the first time, start with a small spoonful. Allergen: No allergens listed.
