Knead the dough
10 minKnead the grated cheese, cornstarch, egg, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a bowl until you have a smooth dough.
A Colombian favorite at Christmas and children's birthday parties, buñuelos are made by kneading fresh cheese into dough and cooking it into golden balls. Making them in an air fryer uses much less oil than deep-frying while keeping the outside crisp. Serve warm for a balance of salty cheese and lightly sweet dough.
Knead the grated cheese, cornstarch, egg, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a bowl until you have a smooth dough.
Divide the dough into twelve pieces, each about the size of a small egg, and roll between your palms into balls.
Arrange the balls in the air fryer basket with space between them. Cook at 190°C / 375°F for twelve minutes until golden and crisp, shaking the basket halfway through. If you do not have an air fryer, use a preheated oven at the same temperature.
If the dough sticks to your hands, add another pinch of cornstarch. Dough that is too wet will stay raw inside when cooked. Allergens: contains milk and dairy products, and eggs.
Airfryer'da yaptığım ilk buñuelos denemem oldu, dışı çıtır içi peynirli çıktı. Kolay bir tarif, tekrar yapacağım kesin.
