Cut the pastry
10 minRoll out the puff pastry and cut it into long strips about 1 cm wide.
These twists are made by cutting puff pastry into thin strips, filling them with kashar cheese, a Turkish semi-hard cheese, and baking them until crisp. An easy, eye-catching snack for guests that stays fresh as it cools.
Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into long strips about 1 cm wide.
Sprinkle grated kashar cheese over each strip and fold it in half. Hold both ends and twist them in opposite directions to form a stick.
Arrange the twists with space between them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and press the ends down lightly.
Brush the twists with egg yolk and sprinkle with nigella seeds and sesame seeds. Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C / 390°F until golden.
Important: After twisting the strips, press the ends lightly onto the baking sheet to keep them from opening in the oven. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), dairy, and egg.
