Recipes for children
These kid-friendly rolls are made by filling yeasted dough with shredded chicken breast and grated Kashar cheese, shaping it into small balls, and baking them. The melted Kashar gives each bite a stretchy cheese filling.
Dissolve the fresh yeast and sugar in the lukewarm milk. Knead with the flour, one egg, cooking oil, and salt to make a soft dough.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes, until it doubles in size.
Divide the dough into pieces about 4 cm in diameter. Fill each with shredded chicken breast and grated Kashar cheese, then shape into round balls.
Arrange the filled balls on a baking sheet with space between them and let them rise for 20 more minutes.
Brush the tops with the reserved egg and bake in a preheated 190°C / 375°F oven for 20 minutes, until golden.
Leave at least a two-finger gap between the balls on the baking sheet; otherwise, they may stick together and lose their shape as they rise. Contains wheat (gluten), milk and dairy, and eggs.
