This classic home-style salad combines cooked chickpeas with red onion, tomato, parsley, and olive oil. It comes together quickly with inexpensive ingredients. Sumac adds flavor, and the salad can be served on its own or alongside grilled meat.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the Onion

10 min

Finely chop the red onion and sprinkle it with salt. Let it rest to reduce its sharp smell.

2

Mix the Ingredients

10 min

Combine the cooked chickpeas, chopped tomato, parsley, and rested onion in a large bowl.

3

Dress and Serve

5 min

Drizzle with olive oil, lemon juice, and sumac. Toss once more before serving.

Reminder

If you add the onion without first resting it with salt, it can leave a sharp onion smell. If you cook the chickpeas yourself, drain them completely and let them cool before mixing them into the salad, or the salad may become watery.

Soğanı tuzla dinlendirme süresini 10 dakikadan daha kısa tutsam kokusu yine de yeterince azalır mı, yoksa mutlaka tarifte yazan süreye uyup tam beklemem mi gerekiyor acaba?
