Thin phyllo strips are filled with Turkish kashar cheese, rolled tightly, and fried in hot oil until crisp. Tightly sealing the rolls and keeping the oil at the right temperature gives this quick pastry a crisp exterior and melty center.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Cut the phyllo

5 min

Cut each phyllo sheet into four equal strips.

2

Prepare the filling

5 min

Mix the grated kashar cheese with the egg and parsley.

3

Roll the pastries

10 min

Place one 5 ml measure of filling at the end of each strip, roll it tightly, and seal the end with egg.

4

Fry

5 min

Heat the frying oil over medium heat and fry the rolls for 5 minutes, until golden.

Reminder

Seal the ends of the rolls well with egg as you wrap them, or they may open while frying and the cheese may leak out. Contains gluten (phyllo), dairy (kashar cheese), and egg.
