Whole-wheat flour and rolled oats form a dough that is rolled thin, cut into rounds and baked into crisp, slightly salty biscuits. A British teatime classic, they are also a favorite for late-night snacking.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Mix the dry ingredients

5 min

Mix the whole-wheat flour, rolled oats, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl.

2

Rub in the butter

10 min

Rub the cold butter into the mixture with your fingertips until it resembles coarse sand.

3

Bring the dough together

5 min

Add the milk a little at a time and knead just enough to bring the dough together.

4

Roll out and cut

10 min

Roll the dough thinly, cut with a round cutter and arrange on a baking pan.

5

Bake

20 min

Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 20 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.

Reminder

Keep your hands cool as you rub in the butter. Warm hands will melt it and spoil the biscuits’ crisp texture. Allergens: contains gluten (whole-wheat flour) and dairy (butter and milk).

Tereyağını parmaklarımla ovarken ellerimin ısındığını fark edince arada bir soğuk suya soktum, sonuç gerçekten çok daha gevrek çıktı. 20 dakikalık pişirme süresi benim fırınımda tam kararındaydı.
