A staple decoration for Nowruz celebrations, these colorful eggs are made by quickly boiling eggs in a pressure cooker, then soaking them in natural beet dye. They travel easily in a picnic basket and add color to festive gatherings.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Boil the eggs

5 min

Place the eggs in salted boiling water in the pressure cooker and close the lid. Once it comes to pressure and whistles, cook for 5 minutes.

2

Prepare the dye

5 min

Mix the grated beet with water and vinegar in a bowl, then dip the hard-boiled eggs into the mixture.

3

Let them sit

15 min

Leave the eggs in the dye for 15 minutes to set the color.

4

Dry and serve

5 min

Remove the colored eggs and pat them dry with paper towels. Serve them in a basket at the Nowruz table.

Reminder

Let the eggs cool completely in their shells before dyeing them; if the shells are warm, dye may seep through cracks and stain the eggs. Allergen: contains egg.
