Cook the Tofu in the Pressure Cooker
10 minSlice the drained tofu and place it in the pressure cooker with the soy sauce, water, five-spice blend, ginger, crushed garlic, and sugar. Cook for 5 minutes after the cooker comes to pressure.
Inspired by Chinese five-spice seasoning, this tofu snack is made by briefly cooking firm tofu in a pressure cooker and letting it marinate for a long time in a spiced soy sauce mixture. Its low-carb profile makes it a light snack option.
Slice the drained tofu and place it in the pressure cooker with the soy sauce, water, five-spice blend, ginger, crushed garlic, and sugar. Cook for 5 minutes after the cooker comes to pressure.
Once the pressure has released naturally, transfer the tofu and marinade to a container. Refrigerate to marinate.
Remove the tofu slices from the marinade, drizzle with sesame oil, and serve cold.
Press the tofu to drain it before slicing; excess water can prevent it from absorbing the marinade and leave the flavor on the surface. Allergen: contains soy and sesame. Additional allergen check: Check the soy sauce product label for a gluten statement; ingredients can vary by product.
