Preparing the Marinade
10 minMix the pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
Galbi is a Korean grilled classic made with thinly sliced beef ribs marinated in a sweet-and-savory mixture of pear and soy sauce. The pear adds sweetness and helps tenderize the meat.
Mix the pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
Toss the meat with the marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Grill the meat over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes, turning it until browned on all sides.
Sprinkle with scallions and serve hot with rice.
Store raw marinated meat in the refrigerator for 1 day or in the freezer for 2 months. Store cooked ribs in the refrigerator for 2 days.
