A light salad for afternoon tea, made by quickly toasting stale bread in an air fryer and tossing it with fresh lettuce and tomato. The crispness from the air fryer is an easy way to make use of stale bread.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the bread

3 min

Cut the stale bread into cubes and toss with olive oil.

2

Toast in the air fryer

7 min

Preheat the air fryer to 180°C / 355°F. Put the bread cubes in the basket and cook for 6 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally, until golden. If you do not have an air fryer, bake them in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 8 minutes to achieve the same crispness.

3

Prepare the vegetables

3 min

Chop the lettuce and tomato and put them in a bowl.

4

Toss and serve

2 min

Add the lemon juice and salt and mix. Sprinkle the crispy bread cubes over the top and serve.

Reminder

Arrange the bread cubes in a single layer in the air-fryer basket; piling them up will prevent even browning. Add the dressing just before serving; mixing it in too early will soften the bread. Contains an allergen: wheat (gluten).

Ekmek küplerini 6 dakika yerine 5 dakikada çıkardım çünkü ince kesmiştim, yeterince kızarmıştı. Marulu daha erken doğrayınca biraz solmuş göründü, servisten hemen önce doğramak daha iyiymiş.
