Inspired by Argentina's asado tradition, this baby food is made by charring corn cobs over embers and blending the kernels into a fine purée. Strained twice to remove pieces of skin and fiber, it is one of the first grain-based foods for babies from 8 months of age.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Char the corn and carrot

10 min

Place the corn in its husk and the peeled carrot over the grill embers. Cook for 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the outer husks are completely blackened.

2

Remove the kernels

5 min

Peel off the charred corn husks and cut the kernels off the cob with a knife. Chop the carrot into small pieces.

3

Boil and purée

5 min

Boil the corn kernels and carrot pieces with a 200 ml measure of water for 5 minutes, until softened, then blend with the olive oil.

4

Strain twice

3 min

Pass the purée through a fine sieve twice, making sure no pieces of skin or fiber remain.

Reminder

Always pass the purée through a fine sieve before feeding it to your baby: even a tiny piece of skin can pose a choking risk. Do not add salt or sugar before the age of 1 year.

Havuç yerine tatlı patatesle de denedim, mısırın tatlılığıyla güzel uyum sağladı ve bebeğim hiç yadırgamadı. Süzgeçten geçirme adımını ikiden fazla tekrarlamak gerekir mi, yoksa iki kez gerçekten yeterli mi?
