Remove the arils

A natural drink made by freshly pressing pomegranate arils, with no additives. Its sweet-tart flavor is delicious on its own or as a dressing for salads and other dishes.
Cut the pomegranates in half and remove the arils in a bowl of water. Skim the membranes from the surface and discard them.
Briefly pulse the arils in a blender, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
Add a little water and stir if you want to mellow the juice’s tartness.
Chill the pomegranate juice in the refrigerator, pour into glasses, and serve.
Important: Removing the pomegranate arils in water makes the process easier: the arils sink while the membranes float to the surface. Juice from tart varieties can taste sharp; add a little honey if you want to sweeten it.
