Honey-flambéed apples are a Ukrainian dessert made in minutes by lightly sautéing sliced apples in butter, then flaming them with honey and rum. Timing the flambé is the most challenging part of the recipe.
Core the apples and slice them about 0.5 centimeter thick.
Lightly sauté the apple slices in hot butter, then drizzle the honey over them.
Away from the stove, briefly heat the pan, add the rum, carefully ignite it with a match, and wait until the flame goes out.
Sprinkle cinnamon over the apple slices and serve warm.
During flambéing, keep the pan away from the stove and range hood, and bring a lit match in from the side; the flame goes out on its own after a few seconds. Allergen: contains milk and dairy products (butter).
