Puree the chickpeas
8 minPut the cooked chickpeas, garlic, tahini, and lemon juice in a food processor. Add water gradually and process until smooth.
This breakfast plate brings together hummus, fresh vegetables, and olive oil, a common first meal of the day on Lebanese tables. With no cooking required, it offers a light, low-calorie, and satisfying start to the day.
Put the cooked chickpeas, garlic, tahini, and lemon juice in a food processor. Add water gradually and process until smooth.
Add the cumin and salt to the chickpea mixture and process once more. Taste and adjust the lemon juice.
Transfer the hummus to a wide plate and make a well in the center with the back of a spoon. Drizzle with olive oil.
Arrange the sliced cucumber and quartered tomatoes around the edge of the plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Add water gradually while pureeing the chickpeas; adding too much at once will make the hummus runny and spread across the plate. Allergen: contains sesame.
