Pizza and Turkish flatbreads
A hearty loaded pizza topped with tomato sauce, Turkish spiced sausage, mushrooms, peppers, and plenty of mozzarella. Its crisp crust and generous toppings make it a weekend favorite and a crowd-pleaser.
Stir the yeast into the lukewarm water and let it stand. Knead the flour, olive oil, salt, and yeast mixture into a soft, elastic dough. Let it proof until doubled in size.
On a floured surface, roll the proofed dough into a thin circle, leaving the edges a little thicker. Mix the strained tomatoes with the thyme and spread over the crust.
Spread the Turkish spiced sausage, mushrooms, and pepper over the sauce. Top with the grated mozzarella.
Bake on the lower rack of an oven preheated to 250°C / 480°F until the bottom of the crust is crisp and the cheese is melted and browned. Slice and serve hot.
Important: For a crisp crust, bake the pizza at the oven’s highest temperature on a preheated baking sheet. Contains gluten and dairy. Ingredients and cross-contact warnings for packaged Turkish sausage vary by brand; check the label. Serve hot.
