Lugaw is a Filipino porridge for babies, made by pressure-cooking rice with plenty of water until soft, then adding tender fish with few bones. A pressure cooker helps the rice soften completely in less time.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Cook the Rice

15 min

Add the rinsed rice, water, and grated ginger to a pressure cooker and close the lid. Once it comes to a boil, cook for 15 minutes.

2

Release the Pressure

3 min

Fully release the pressure from the cooker before opening the lid. Check that the rice has reached a porridge-like consistency.

3

Add the Fish

5 min

Stir the boiled, mashed sea bass into the porridge and heat over low heat for 5 more minutes.

4

Serve

2 min

Let the porridge cool until lukewarm, then serve.

Reminder

Check the fish for bones twice before adding it to the porridge; even a tiny bone can be a risk in food prepared for a baby. Allergen: contains fish.

Bebeğim için ilk kez balıklı bir lapa denedim, kılçık kontrolünü iki kez yapmama rağmen yine de biraz tedirgin oldum ama her şey sorunsuz geçti. Kıvamı tam istediğim gibiydi.
