Make the sauce
2 minMix the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil.
A classic Japanese yakitori skewer, negima is made by alternating chicken thigh with green onion and quickly grilling it with a sweet soy glaze. The onions’ lightly charred flavor balances the sweetness of the soy sauce.
Mix the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil.
Thread the chicken cubes and green onion pieces onto skewers in alternating order.
Grill the skewers over high heat for 5 minutes, turning them continuously and brushing with the sauce.
Transfer the skewers to a plate, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve hot.
Turn the skewers continuously after placing them on the grill; the sweet sauce burns quickly and can become bitter. Contains soy and sesame. Additional allergen check: check the product label for gluten in the soy sauce; ingredients can vary by brand.
