A practical no-bake snack bar made with rolled oats and grated apple. It sets in the refrigerator before slicing and makes a wholesome alternative to sugary snacks for a child’s lunchbox.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Mix the ingredients

10 min

Thoroughly mix the rolled oats, grated apple, honey, cinnamon, walnuts, and melted coconut oil in a bowl.

2

Press into the pan

5 min

Pour the mixture into a small parchment-lined pan and press it firmly into an even layer.

3

Chill until firm

120 min

Refrigerate the pan for at least two hours. Do not slice the mixture before it has firmed up.

4

Slice the bars

5 min

Lift the firm mixture out of the pan and cut it into eight equal slices.

Reminder

Important: The bars contain walnuts; take care if serving them to children with hazelnut or walnut allergies. Refrigerate the mixture for at least two hours after pressing it into the pan; otherwise, the bars may fall apart when sliced. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
