Make the Marinade
8 minMix the miso, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce.
This elegant Japanese-style fish dish is made by marinating salmon fillets in miso, mirin, and sugar, then baking until caramelized. The sweet-savory glaze balances the salmon’s rich texture.
Mix the miso, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce.
Coat the salmon fillet with the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Bake in a preheated 200°C / 390°F oven for 12–15 minutes, until the salmon is cooked and lightly caramelized on top.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve hot with rice.
Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for 2 days. Reheat in the oven at a low temperature.
