Pastries and dough-based dishes
This everyday homemade bread is made from a simple yeasted dough, shaped into an oval, and baked. Served warm, it pairs well with any meal and has a lightly crisp crust with a soft interior.
Stir the fresh yeast and sugar into the lukewarm water. Cover and let it stand for 10 minutes, until foamy.
Add the flour, salt, and olive oil, and knead into a soft dough that does not stick to your hands.
Cover the dough and let it proof in a warm place until doubled in size.
Shape the dough into an oval and place it on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with sesame and nigella seeds, then press shallow dimples into the surface with your fingertips.
Bake in an oven preheated to 220°C / 430°F until golden.
Important: Preheat the oven thoroughly before baking, or the bread may bake before it has risen enough. Allergens: Contains wheat (gluten).
