Inspired by Portugal’s fishing villages, this thinly rolled dough is topped with canned sardines, onion, and olives, then baked. It makes a quick dinner with budget-friendly ingredients.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Knead the dough

7 min

Knead the flour, yeast, salt, olive oil, and warm water together until you have a smooth dough.

2

Let the dough rise

15 min

Cover the dough and let it rise for 15 minutes, until doubled in size.

3

Roll out and top

8 min

Roll the dough into a thin layer. Arrange the onion, tomato slices, sardines, and olives on top.

4

Bake

15 min

Bake in an oven preheated to 220°C / 430°F for 15 minutes, until the edges are golden.

Reminder

Leave space between the sardines as you arrange them; overlapping pieces may not cook evenly. Contains gluten (flour) and fish.

Fırın süresini 15 dakika tuttum, kenarları güzel kızardı ama ortadaki sardalyalar biraz kurumuş; bir dahaki sefere süreyi 12 dakikaya indireceğim, üst rafı da kullanmayı düşünüyorum.

Tarifte 15 dakika mayalandırma yazıyor ama hamurum hiç kabarmadı, mayamın taze olmadığını sonradan fark ettim; bu yüzden sonuç beklediğimden daha sert çıktı, tekrar taze mayayla deneyeceğim.
