A classic Filipino breakfast, sinangag is made by quickly stir-frying day-old rice in garlic-infused oil. Shrimp makes this version more filling and gives it a special touch, while air-fried garlic crisps add crunch on top.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the garlic crisps

4 min

Toss the thinly sliced garlic with a 5 ml measure of oil and spread in the air fryer basket. Cook at a medium temperature for about 4 minutes, until golden.

2

Sauté the shrimp

3 min

Sauté the shrimp in half the remaining oil for about 3 minutes, until pink, then transfer to a plate.

3

Stir-fry the rice

5 min

Stir-fry the chilled rice with the soy sauce in the remaining oil over high heat for 5 minutes, until the grains separate.

4

Combine and serve

2 min

Mix the shrimp into the rice, top with the fried garlic crisps and scallions and serve.

Reminder

Use rice cooked the day before and kept in the fridge; freshly cooked hot rice will stick and clump in the pan. Allergens: contains crustaceans (shrimp). Additional allergen check: check the soy sauce label for gluten information. Ingredients may vary by product.
