Slata tounsia is one of Tunisia’s best-known salads, combining leftover hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, and canned tuna with olives and a harissa dressing. Without a starchy ingredient, this version is a low-carb meal option.
Dice the tomatoes, cucumber, and green bell pepper and place them in a bowl.
Add the tuna, sliced leftover hard-boiled eggs, and olives to the bowl.
Add the olive oil, lemon juice, and harissa, toss gently, and serve right away.
Chop and mix the vegetables just before serving; if you prepare them ahead, they may release water and make the salad watery. Start with a small amount of harissa, taste, and add more as desired. Allergens: eggs and fish (tuna).
