This South African classic combines spiced ground beef with dried apricots and almonds, then bakes it under a milk-and-egg topping. The gently sweet curry flavor makes it a main dish many kids enjoy, too.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Brown the Ground Beef

15 min

Sauté the onion in olive oil, then add the ground beef and cook until its color changes.

2

Season

8 min

Add the curry powder, flour, salt, chopped dried apricots, and sliced almonds to the ground beef. Sauté for a few more minutes.

3

Transfer to a Baking Dish

5 min

Spread the mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.

4

Add the Egg Topping and Bake

35 min

Beat the milk and eggs together and pour over the ground beef. Bake uncovered in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 35 minutes, until the top is set and lightly browned.

Reminder

Bake the casserole uncovered. Otherwise, the egg topping will not puff up and brown nicely. Allergen: Contains wheat (gluten), milk and dairy products, egg, and tree nuts (almonds).

Kuru kayısı yerine kuru üzüm kullansam tatlılık oranı çok mu değişir, yoksa 35 dakikalık fırınlama süresini ve 180 derece sıcaklığı aynı mı bırakmalıyım, çocuklar için tadı fazla mı tatlı olur?

Kuru üzüm kullanırsanız tatlılık biraz artar ama 180 derece ve 35 dakika aynı kalabilir, sonuçta ikisi de benzer nem oranına sahip; çocuklar için tatlılığı azaltmak isterseniz köri miktarını biraz artırabilirsiniz.
