Broccoli florets are tossed with cumin and Turkish red pepper flakes and cooked quickly in an air fryer for crisp edges and a spicy flavor without frying in oil. Made with heart-friendly olive oil, this light side dish pairs well with dinner.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the broccoli

10 min

Cut the broccoli into florets, wash and drain thoroughly in a colander.

2

Toss with the spices

5 min

Toss the broccoli with the olive oil, cumin, Turkish red pepper flakes, garlic powder and salt until every piece is coated.

3

Cook in the air fryer

12 min

Arrange the broccoli in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook at 200°C / 390°F for 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. If you do not have an air fryer, cook it in an oven preheated to 200°C / 390°F for the same amount of time. Squeeze lemon juice over it to serve.

Reminder

Do not overcrowd the basket: the broccoli will not cook evenly if the florets overlap. Cook in two batches if necessary.
