This practical recipe turns yesterday’s rice into a new dish by pan-frying it with butter and red pepper flakes instead of throwing it away. The grains brown lightly on the outside and take on fresh flavor from the cumin and hot pepper.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Loosen the rice

5 min

Rub the cold rice gently between your hands to separate the grains and break up any clumps.

2

Toast the spices

5 min

Melt the butter in a wide pan. Add the red pepper flakes and cumin and sauté for 1 minute, until fragrant.

3

Fry the rice

15 min

Add the loosened rice to the pan and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.

4

Serve

5 min

Stir in the salt, sprinkle with finely chopped parsley, and serve hot.

Reminder

Break up the rice thoroughly before adding it to the pan so clumps do not stay cold in the center. Allergen: contains milk/dairy (butter).

Dünkü pilavı bu şekilde kavurunca resto gibi oldu, pul biberin miktarını iki katına çıkardım ve daha da lezzetli oldu.
