Inspired by Canadian breakfasts, this portable omelet bowl is made by seasoning a thin omelet with hot sauce and a little maple syrup, rolling it tightly, and slicing it into a jar. The sweet and spicy balance turns an ordinary omelet into a convenient lunchbox meal.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the Mixture

5 min

Whisk the eggs, milk, maple syrup, hot sauce, and salt. Stir in the green onion and red bell pepper.

2

Cook a Thin Omelet

6 min

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet and pour in the mixture in a thin layer. Once the bottom is set, cover and cook for 6 minutes without flipping.

3

Cool and Roll

5 min

Remove the omelet from the skillet and let it cool for 5 minutes, then roll it up tightly.

4

Slice and Arrange in a Bowl

3 min

Slice the roll into 2 cm-thick pieces and arrange them in a jar or bowl to serve.

Reminder

Do not roll the omelet while it is very hot; let it cool slightly first or it may crack. Allergen: contains eggs.
