Mix the Meat
5 minThoroughly mix the ground beef with the onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
Named for its flat, slipper-like shape, this meatball cooks in just a few minutes when pressed thin and can be served quickly at gatherings. It is also easy to share as a late-night or between-meal snack.
Thoroughly mix the ground beef with the onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
Take portions of the mixture and press them very thin by hand into slipper-shaped patties.
Heat the cooking oil until very hot and cook the meatballs quickly for 5 minutes, until browned on both sides.
Press the meatballs very thin; if they are too thick, the short cooking time may leave the centers raw. Do not add them until the oil is hot, or they will absorb oil and become heavy. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten, breadcrumbs) and eggs.
