10 minRub the beef with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
A classic English Sunday meal featuring roasted beef and root vegetables, served with puffed Yorkshire pudding and pan gravy. This hearty dinner is the centerpiece of a weekly family gathering and one of the oldest traditions in English cooking.
Rub the beef with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
Arrange the beef and vegetables in a roasting pan. Roast in a preheated 200°C / 390°F oven for 90 minutes, checking occasionally.
Whisk the flour, eggs, and milk until smooth. Let the batter rest for 30 minutes.
Add oil to a muffin pan and heat it in the oven. Pour in the batter and bake at 200°C / 390°F for 20 minutes, until puffed and golden.
Slice the beef and serve hot with the vegetables and Yorkshire puddings.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Yorkshire pudding is best eaten fresh; it deflates as it sits.
