Inspired by Jamaica’s tropical fruit orchards, these no-cook skewers pair pineapple, papaya, and banana with lemon and mint. This naturally made snack is sugar-free and heart-friendly, and is a practical late-night snack for children.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the fruit

6 min

Cut the pineapple, papaya and banana into cubes about 2 cm across. Remove all the seeds and peel.

2

Add lemon and thread onto skewers

4 min

Thread the fruit cubes onto wooden skewers, then squeeze the lemon juice over them; it helps prevent the fruit from browning.

3

Serve with the sauce

2 min

Mix the finely chopped mint with the honey and spoon it into a small bowl. Serve chilled alongside the skewers.

Reminder

Pat the fruit dry with a paper towel before threading it onto the skewers; otherwise, the lemon juice can make the fruit slippery and cause it to fall off. You can use date molasses instead of honey without upsetting the balance of sweetness.
