Tunisia's famous dates and orange slices that have dried out in the fridge become a crisp snack when dried at a low temperature in the air fryer. With no added sweetener or solid fat, they make a quick, low-calorie snack between meals.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the fruit

10 min

Pit and thinly slice the dates. Cut the oranges into slices 3 millimeters thick.

2

Dry in the air fryer

20 min

Spread the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket and sprinkle with cinnamon if you like. Dry on a low heat setting for 20 minutes, turning the slices once halfway through.

3

Cool and store

10 min

Cool the dried slices on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Once completely dry, store in an airtight jar.

Reminder

Slices that are too thick will take longer to dry and may stay moist in the center, so keep them no thicker than 3 millimeters. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket: restricted airflow will prevent the crisps from drying evenly.
