Turon is a crispy Filipino street snack made by wrapping ripe banana in a spring roll wrapper, coating it with granulated sugar, and frying it. Getting the sugar to caramelize on the wrapper without burning takes skill; otherwise, it can taste bitter. It has a sweet texture that children may enjoy.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Roll

15 min

Coat half a banana in brown sugar and place it at the edge of a spring roll wrapper. Roll it up tightly to seal.

2

Fry

12 min

Heat the sunflower oil over medium heat and fry the rolls until every side is caramelized and golden.

3

Serve

3 min

Transfer the rolls to paper towels. Let them cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Reminder

Fry the rolls over medium heat; high heat can burn the sugar quickly and leave a bitter taste. Allergen: contains gluten (spring roll wrapper).

Ruloları 12 dakika yerine tam 15 dakika kızarttım çünkü ilk denememde şeker yeterince karamelize olmamıştı, bu sefer renk gerçekten çok daha koyu ve iştah açıcı oldu.
