Melt the honey and butter

Medivnyky, a honey-scented cookie from Ukrainian winters, is made by melting honey with butter and combining it with cinnamon. Shaping the dough before it rests can cause the cookies to spread in the oven.
Gently heat the butter, honey, and sugar over low heat until melted.
Once the mixture has cooled slightly, add the egg and whisk.
Add the flour, cinnamon, and baking powder and knead. Wrap the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Shape the dough into small balls and arrange them on a baking sheet.
Bake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
Do not shape the dough before chilling it; dough that has not rested may spread too much in the oven, resulting in thin, hard cookies. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), egg, and dairy.
